Our Horses
Odalisca GF
Odalisca GF (Indiano XVIII x Olimpica NR), our black foundation broodmare, carries with her some of the most important bloodlines, top and bottom.
Her father, the magnificent Indiano XVIII, has won top honors in Spain, Mexico, and the United States. Indiano’s pedigree is pure Romero Benitez, showing some of the purest and most admired of that line of horses who trace directly back to the pure Cartujano horses.
Her maternal grandsire, the black Guarapo, was imported from Mexico as a weanling, and is one of the top sires of black Andalusians in the US. He was sired by Genil, Champion of Champions of Spain out of an Escalera mare from the farm of Maria Fernanda de la Escalera in Spain.
In 2005, Odalisca GF earned National Top Five titles in Halter, English Show Hack Open, and Western Pleasure Youth and was named the Reserve National Champion Spanish Senior Mare at the IALHA National Show.
In addition, she holds three championship titles in the Pacific Northwest: Champion Andalusian Mare, Champion Andalusian Halter—placing over mature stallions!—and Andalusian Western Pleasure Champion.
Internationally, Odalisca GF was named Reserve Champion Senior Mare, Reserve Champion PRE Senior Mare, and Reserve Champion English Performance Horse at Canada’s 2005 Andalusian show.
In addition, she earned High Point Andalusian honors at the Go for Baroque Andalusian Show in June, 2005 and was named the 2005 NWAHA / PAALH Pacific Rim High Point Andalusian Horse of the Year.
In all ways, she is truly living up to her royal ancestry!
In 2008, Odalisca GF will be bred to Hilandero X, an imported 16.3 hand grey PRE stallion, Morphology Champion in Spain, Dressage Champion in the Dominican Republic; 2007 Canadian National Championship Top Five Senior Stallion and Best Movement. This foal will be offered for sale if it's a colt but retained for our breeding program if it's a filly.
Their 2007 foal is offered for sale. Terms available.

Jefe
Our firstborn foal, Jefe (“the boss man”) has definitely earned the right to carry his name. Since the day he was born, Jefe has known he is something special, and he never lets us forget it!
Jefe earned his keep as Julie’s primary riding horse when she worked as a back-country wilderness ranger for the Forest Service in Montana, and since then has racked up a rather impressive show record. Quick to learn and eager to please, he combines the best of both Andalusian and foundation Quarter Horse bloodlines.
In California, he competed successfully in NATRC competitive trail rides as a 4 and 5 year old. In Oregon, he has become a familiar figure in the Open show ring, competing in reining as well as English and Western Pleasure divisions.
Most recently, he is making a name for himself at Andalusian breed shows. At the 2005 IALHA Nationals in Fort Worth, Texas, Jefe demonstrated his incredible versatility, earning five National Top Five titles (Senior Gelding Halter, Western Pleasure Amateur, Hunt Seat Pleasure Amateur, Dressage Suitability Open, and English Show Hack Open). To crown his list of achievements that year, Jefe was named the 2005 National Champion in the Half- Andalusian Western Pleasure Amateur division.
In the Pacific Northwest, he earned eight Championship titles in 2005 (3 x Grand Champion Half-Andalusian, 2 x Grand Champion Half-Andalusian Gelding, 2 x Grand Champion Half-Andalusian English Pleasure, and Grand Champion Half-Andalusian Western Pleasure). In 2006, he captured most of these titles for a second time.
As if that weren’t enough, Jefe was also named the NWAHA / PAALH Pacific Rim High Point Part-Andalusian Horse of the Year for 2005, 2006, and 2007 and has been honored with 15 United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Horse of the Year Regional Champion titles and 4 USEF National titles. In 2007, Jefe was named the IALHA Half-Andalusian Horse of the Year.

Armani LFA
Having joined us in 2005, Armani represents the first joint purchase between Caballos del Corazón and Stephens Performance Horses. Sired by Guarapo out of a Navarre GF x Ladina mare, Armani is maturing into a purebred black Andalusian breeding stallion of the highest quality.
I first met Armani's sire Guarapo and maternal grand-dam Ladina in 1996 when they were both residing at Gremlan Farms in California. I was immediately struck by the presence and charisma of these two amazing black Andalusians. Almost ten years later, I finally found the perfect combination of these lines and brought him home from Florida as soon as he was weaned. I couldn't be more pleased by how he has developed.
In 2007, Armani was named the Canadian Reserve National Champion Purebred Junior Colt in a very competitive class. He is starting his work under saddle in 2008.
Armani's first foal (a beautiful black Half-Andalusian colt) was born in 2008. We are expecting 3 foals from him in 2009; he is also standing to a limited book of outside mares.

CDC Abrazo
A stellar cross between Odalisca GF and Romerito II, Abrazo is a huge bay yearling gelding with movement to spare. From the moment he was born, he has impressed me with his loving personality and gentle nature. NOTE: As of June 2008, Abrazo may have found a new home and lifemate in Wyoming. If you are interested in Abrazo, please contact me to discuss formalizing a 'second in line' arrangement.

Caprichosa joined the Caballos del Corazon family in 2007. A classic old-style Andalusian, she represents the perfect combination of Spanish and Portuguese bloodlines. CDC Ansia, Caprichosa's 2008 foal (by Spanish Champion Hilandero X), is being retained for our breeding program.
Her 2009 foal by the same stallion is available for purchase in-utero, $8000.
